If the proposed use of the building does not require any interior renovations and does not constitute a change in Use and Occupancy Classification per the International Building Code, the current Certificate of Occupancy for the building would remain valid and the business would obtain a business license from the City and a commercial sign permit. i.e., a bookstore is taking over a space formerly occupied by a shoe store would not require the issuance of a new Certificate of Occupancy.
